Molded
Silicone
Seal Science utilizes many different processes such as compression,
transfer, and liquid injection molding of Silicone and Fluorosilicone
Rubber. Some of the most versatile and capable elastomers with a useable
temperature range of from -65C to +315C they have several other outstanding
characteristics. These include excellent flexibility, long service life,
fatigue resistance, good compression set, and weatherability. Additionally
they have low levels of combustibility, a long shelf life, excellent
energy absorption properties and can withstand radiation levels to 2
x 108 rads. The fluorosilicones, specifically, have improved compatibility
with fuels and oils.
Seal Science has
mastered the molding of these elastomers enabling the creation of close
tolerance components of often-complex configurations. We are also expert
at the bonding of these materials to a wide variety of substrates, including
fabrics, plastics, and metals. Included in this is a complete line of
o-rings, gaskets, seals, and vacuum cups. When necessary, the use of
metallic and non-metallic fills to create specified conductivity levels
checked with ASTM methods.
