AMS3334: Silicone, Rubber, Extreme Low-Temperature Resistant, 35 – 40

This specification covers a silicone rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes.

AMS3337: Silicone (PVMQ) Rubber Extreme Low Temperature Resistant, 65 – 75

This specification covers a silicone rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions and molded shapes. Primarily for parts required to operate or seal from -75 to +205 degrees C (-103 to +401 degrees F), compounded especially for high strength. Silicone elastomer is resistant to deterioration by weathering and by high-aniline-point-petroleum-base oils and remains flexible over the temperature range noted. These products are not normally suitable for use in contact with gasoline or aromatic fuels and low-aniline-point petroleum-base fluids due to excessive swelling.

AMS3345: Silicone Rubber 1000 psi (6.89 MPa) Minimum Tensile Strength, 45 – 55

This specification covers a silicone rubber material that can be used to manufacture product in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, molded shapes, and extrusions. This specification should not be used to address products such as O-rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets. For these applications AMS specifications in the AMS7XXX series should be used.

AMS3347: Rubber, Silicone, 1200 psi (8.27 MPa) High Modulus, 45 – 55

This specification covers a silicone rubber material that can be used to manufacture product in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, extrusions, and molded shapes. This specification should not be used to address products such as O-rings, compression seals, O-ring cord, and molded-in-place gaskets.

AMS3348: Silicone (VMQ) Rubber 1150 psi (7.93 MPa) Tensile Strength, High Resiliency, 25 – 35

This specification covers a silicone (VMQ) rubber in the form of sheet, strip, tubing, molded shapes, and extrusions.

AMS-P-5315: Acrylonitrile-butadiene (NBR) Rubber for Fuel-Resistant Seals, 60 – 70

This specification covers an acrylonitrile-butadiene (NBR) rubber in the manufacture of molded seals.

AMS-R-25988: Rubber, Fluorosilicone Elastomer, Oil and Fuel Resistant, Sheets, Strips, Molded Parts, and Extruded Shapes

AMS-R-83485: Rubber, Fluorocarbon Elastomer, Improved Performance at Low Temperatures

This specification covers high temperature, compression set, and fluid resistant fluorocarbon elastomer sheets, strips, molded parts, and extruded shapes for aeronautical and aerospace applications. This material differs from other fluorocarbon elastomers because of its improved low temperature performance of approximately 25°F.

MIL-DTL-85052: Clamp, Loop, Cushion, General Specification

This specification establishes the design and test requirements for clamp, loop, cushion, primarily intended for general clamping of tubing for aircraft hydraulic systems.

MIL-DTL-83528: Gasketing Material, Conductive, Shielding Gasket, Electronic, Elastomer, EMI/RFI, General Specification

This specification establishes the general requirements for electrically conductive elastomeric shielding gaskets. These gaskets are intended for use in electromagnetic interference/radio frequency interference suppression applications.

MIL-DTL-25988: Rubber, Fluorosilicone Elastomer, Oil and Fuel Resistant, Sheets, Strips, Molded Parts, and Extruded Shapes

This specification covers oil- and -fuel-resistant fluorosilicone elastomer rubber sheets, strips, molded parts, and extruded shapes for aeronautical and aerospace applications.

This specification covers the requirements for low temperature resistant sheets, strips, and molded or extruded shapes fabricated from synthetic rubber.

MIL-R-3065: Rubber, Fabricated Products

This specification establishes the requirements for fabricated products of vulcanized rubber, synthetic rubber, or rubber-like compositions alone or in combination, together with procedures for the inspection of such products.

MIL-R-83248: Rubber, Fluorocarbon Elastomer, High Temperature, Fluid, and Compression Set Resistant

This specification covers high temperature, compression set, and fluid resistant fluorocarbon elastomer sheets, strips, molded parts, and extruded shapes for aeronautical and aerospace applications.

MIL-R-83485: Rubber, Fluorocarbon Elastomer, Improved Performance at Low Temperatures, O-Rings, Sizes, and Tolerances

This specification sheet is to set up a standardized part numbering system for O-rings.

MIL-STD-417: Classification System and Tests for Solid Elastomeric Materials

This standard covers a group of significant symbols identifying performance characteristics of rubber compositions; and, when practicable, test methods for use in determining compliance with the identifying characteristics.

USP CLASS VI: USP Plastic Class VI Materials

USP Class VI demonstrates that the materials utilized are biologically compatible when tested according to the U.S. Pharmacopoeia XXII, 1190 Class VI, Plastics Evaluation. As defined in the U.S. Pharmacopoeia XXII, materials which pass the Class VI Plastic Evaluation are suitable as implantable materials.

ASTM D1056: Standard Specification for Flexible Cellular Materials – Sponge or Expanded Rubber

This specification covers flexible cellular rubber products known as sponge rubber and expanded rubber, but does not apply to latex foam rubber or ebonite cellular rubber. The base material for an open/closed cellular product may be made of synthetic, natural, or reclaimed rubber, or a mixture, and may contain other polymers or chemicals, or both, which may be modified by organic or inorganic additives.
